Upcoming New Mexico ECHO Trainings for Providers and Professionals

  • New Mexico Alcohol Use and Mental Health ECHO

    Meets every month on 1st Tuesday and 3rd Tuesday from 1-2pm.

    Our program was developed to address alcohol-related harm and associated medical and psychiatric conditions. The intention of the program is to reduce stigma, increase awareness and support primary care providers in working with those experiencing harms from the use of alcohol. Using the ECHO Model, our multidisciplinary team with expertise in the fields of psychology, addiction medicine, internal medicine, and psychiatry will support participants through didactics and case-based presentations.

  • New Mexico Adverse Childhood Experiences ECHO

    Meets every month on 1st Thursday, 2nd Thursday and 3rd Thursday from 1-2pm.

    This program will increase healthcare providers’ understanding of the many complex factors at the root of the opioid epidemic, equipping them with the skills they need. With this increased knowledge and skill, healthcare providers will be better equipped to identify children at risk, provide immediate intervention, and refer children and their families to long-term interventions designed to end the opioid crisis in New Mexico.

  • New Mexico HIV and HIV Prevention ECHO

    Meets every Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. MST.

    Our program uses the ECHO Model, and other learning modalities, to build the region’s health care capacity in prevention and treatment services for patients with—or at-risk of—HIV in New Mexico, El Paso, TX, and those living near the U.S.-Mexico border, including those using injectable substances.

  • New Mexico Medication for Opioid Use Disorder ECHO

    Meets every Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. MST.

    Thinking about starting Medication for Opioid Use Disorder-buprenorphine treatment at your clinic? Have you started already and would like more guidance or support? This program is for you. Using the ECHO Model, this program covers key aspects of prescribing with a focus on buprenorphine in clinic settings, including:

    Overview of MOUD: induction, dosing, co-occurring disorders and special populations

    Psychosocial supports: motivational interviewing, harm reduction, co-occurring disorders, etc.

    Clinic-level resources and skills: screening, monitoring, workforce staffing, billing, etc.

  • New Mexico Viral Hepatitis C ECHO

    Meets once a month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. MST; registration is only open to New Mexico health professionals.

    Our programs are addressing a statewide hepatitis C epidemic by training and telementoring primary care providers on treatments and best practices, allowing them to help more patients in underserved communities. During our sessions, primary care providers present cases to their peers and a team of specialists. Using the ECHO Model, providers collaborate, talk through challenging cases, and learn from one another.

  • New Mexico Community Health and Peer Support Worker Opioid Training ECHO

    Meets every Thursday at 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. MST.

    The New Mexico Community Health Worker and Peer Support Worker Opioid ECHO training is a 12-week cohort designed to support the New Mexico CHW and PSW workforce in their treatment of clients with opioid use disorder. Using the ECHO model, our multidisciplinary hub team leads participants through evidence-based didactics and case-based presentations.
